Career Goals
Short Term Career Goals
In the next 5 years, I see myself working at a major engineering, technology, or defense firm as a Data Scientist, Deep Learning Specialist, or Software Engineer. To accomplish these goals, I must:

Continuously develop my skills in computer science, mathematics, and most importantly, problem-solving and creative thinking to pursue the most competitive opportunities I possibly can throughout the rest of my college career

Strive to apply myself to the best of my ability both inside and outside of the classroom while exposing myself to a myriad of new perspectives and academic experiences that enrich my perspective by engaging in multiple student organizations, undergraduate research through VIP, and experiential learning opportunities including internships and co-ops.

Apply for a Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science by maintaining a high undergraduate GPA and enrolling in difficult courses such as CS and ECE 3000-4000 level courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, GPU programming, and Cloud Computing.

Complete a Master's in Computer Engineering by enrolling in 30 credits of advanced ECE 6000 level courses including Statistical Natural Language Processing or finish a Master's in Computer Science by completing 30 credits of advanced CS coursework including Big Data Systems and Analytics.
Long Term Career Goals
In the next 15 years, I see myself ascending the ranks of the company/companies I work for and at this point in my career, I will hold a senior development position, such as a Senior Data Scientist or Senior Software Engineer. To accomplish these goals I must:

Take on leadership positions for each project I work on at the company and serve as a mentor who inspires and empowers others.

Continue to strengthen my work ethic by engaging in independent learning using platforms like Udemy and LinkedIn Learning while remaining focused on developing my skills and acquiring in-demand abilities so that I can distinguish myself from my contemporaries.

Serve as a core member of a development team that releases a product (hardware or software) that has a profound effect on many people's lives.

Prepare for hardships by continuously tackling difficult problems head-on so that I never fall into complacency.

Remain devoted to the quality of my work and apply my full efforts to all of my professional duties.
